So nothing will change we'll collapse anyway once our season is over and we're safe from relegation, may as well have the distraction of europe.

BFS will love the ready made excuse

I can't believe that any of our fans would not fancy a European space!

I remember finishing third in 86 and we were all totally GUTTED to not get european football because of Heysel.

Fucking bring it on!!

Re: Europa League
Fulham made it all the way to the final.....those who are so against us playing in Europe, I wouldn't expect to see u at the final if we made it. Or would you say you are eating humble pie and scramble for a ticket like the rest of us

A wet winters night in a god forsaken, Stalinist architectured, East European second city is truly an enticing prospect.

Says the man who has cloned another posters username. You seem upset for a Sunday morning.

I said this 'Some people on here will be wanking themsleves to death if it means a couple of trips to Europe. The football side of things won't even come into it'

So why does that make me 'thick'? I know I'm a cunt.

How can anyone not want to play in Europe, even it means starting in July
Surely the development side with a couple of the first team could beat some part time team from Iceland

Pagey

Not at all mate. I would suggest we employ a better-equipped manager and build a better squad sharpish! I'd love some European football. Chances are, with the current personnel, we'd not make it to the group stages.

European football in our last season at the Boleyn Ground would be superb...

Re: Europa League
Proper games will set us up well for the season. the teams involved in those early games are the level of 3rd or 4th in Latvia. Easy wins.

That said when we had the Intertoto matches we started the season really well and collapsed badly at the end.

What the the chances of this fair play situation though? Seems unlikely?

Re: Europa League

So what do we do if we qualify? Say thanks but no thanks?

The early qualifying games wouldn't be much more strenuous than pre season friendlies and it would probably help at the start of the season if anything. The problem would be the second half of the season and we can't get much worse than the second half of this season anyway.

It would be brilliant and we'd get in enough players to cover everything.

Re: Europa League
yes, being in Europe is a good thing. playing on a sunday is a cunt though but for those that go to the away games, they'll be left with brilliant memories that will stay with them for a long time

White Pony 11:49 Sun Mar 29
Re: Europa League
Entering via the FPL, we'd be going in at the first Qualifying Round, which means negotiating 4 two-legged ties to get to the Group Stage. Our season would start on Thu July 2nd, with further games on 9th, 16th, 23rd and 30th July and 6th, 20th and 27th August.

If anyone thinks we have the squad or the manager to deal with such a situation, then they're fucking mental.
